t's a little-known fact that Leeds is the birthplace of Goth culture - even in Leeds, and even among Leeds Goths. Someone who knows very well the significance of Leeds in the story is The Blogging Goth, someone who I encountered very early on in my research for the Leeds Goth project.
That’s why, over the last year and a half, I’ve made it my ‘mission’ to put Leeds back in its rightful place at the centre of the world Goth map.
The Blogging Goth, or Tim Sinister, is a trained journalist who specialises in reporting on the goings on in the UK Goth scene, and he kindly invited me to chat with him while the Leeds Goth QR Code Challenge is in full swing.
We covered the challenge itself, the purpose of Leeds Nomad and my thoughts, as a relative outsider to the alternative and Goth scenes in Leeds, on Goth identity and my experiences getting to know so many wonderful people.
