Choose Goth (or Leeds)

A new year needs a new pin badge. Plus a quick update on exciting spring things.

Leeds is the birthplace of Goth culture, so I suppose it was inevitable that the ‘Choose Leeds’ pin badge would need a ‘Choose Goth’ counterpart.

The new year is a brilliant time to plan, and over the last few weeks, I’ve been gearing up for lots of spring things. But some things can’t wait till spring, and I couldn’t resist sending these out into the world sooner than planned. I always assumed the Choose Leeds t-shirts would come first, but a limited run of black Choose Goth tees arrive next week to complement the badges. Wearing both together is not recommended though.

Over the next few months, you can expect new walking tours and talks, maps and guides. Probably some art, too. This year, I’ll also be starting to gather stories and recollections from people in Leeds to share in creative ways.

The hardest thing is choosing what to do and when, especially when there’s so much I want to do and so little time and resource. The best thing about being a part of the heritage community is the opportunity to collaborate, and increasingly that’s becoming the new way to work.

There are so many great conversations going on right now, and I’m very excited by the projects we’re discussing. Collaboration will help us to do more of the things that excite us so much.

Stay tuned – and Choose Goth (or Leeds). 💙🖤
