Alternative Music in Leeds is a self-guided city centre audio trail created for Heritage Open Days 2026, with funding from Leeds Civic Trust.
The trail explores important moments of Leeds’ alternative music heritage. Discover passwords and codes to unlock stories at each location.
Each of the 20 locations on the trail has its own audio story. But there’s a twist in the trail: every story requires a code to unlock it.

No additional signs have been installed for this trail. The codes you need already exist on signage and street furniture or are the solution to an observational puzzle.
